Our studio is owned and operated by Mike Melofchik and specializes in woodturnings and custom-built furniture. We work with a diverse array of wood species and finishing techniques. Generally we favor wood from native North American trees and currently use over 20 different types.

Mike's passion for woodworking began years ago with a painted fireplace mantle. After 5 layers of paint and years of neglect were removed, the piece was restored to a beautiful natural wood color--his love of finishing was born. Over the years, his passion for craftsmanship has been enhanced by learning from master craftsmen such as Frank Klausz, Stephen Proctor, and Bill Hylton. Mike's knowledgebase and experience continue to grow with each new project.

Mike has also participated in the Freedom Pens Project, a volunteer organization which shows support to American troops overseas by providing custom hand-crafted pens.
